My New Blog

  • #Journal

This is the first blog post I’ve written for this site. I did it using Sveltia CMS, which is an open-source CMS that doesn’t seem to utilize a database. All of the data is converted into markdown files in the repo and then loaded into the app on startup. It’s kind of neat and perfect for what I’m looking for since this is meant to be a personal blog that likely won’t scale to be that large. I mean, who knows? Maybe I’ll grow this into being something bigger but right now it fits what I’m looking for and it’s some pretty cool technology.

Right now I’m battling back and forth with AI tools to get this looking the way I want but I swear every time I have it do something for me it takes some creative liberties here and there. Not ideal but I’m not exactly using anything integrated into the IDE at the moment. I want there to be a human hand in all of this since I want this place to be a reflection of myself. The AI should be able to handle the monotony of simple tasks, but I want full control over the creative process. I can’t trust these things to output anything meaningful anyway.

Nothing seen here is set in stone. I’ll likely change the look and feel as the days go on, including updating the collection schema and whatnot. I’m not sure what else I’ll be including here but that’s kind of the fun part isn’t it? No one telling me what to do, no deadlines, no money on the line. Just me and this mechanical keyboard. Let’s see where it goes from here.
